Are you ready to take that first step to losing weight. You’re sick and tired of carrying around those extra pounds and now you’re ready to do something about it. GREAT the first step is finding healthy diet plans to consider before you run off to just cut back on what you eat.
You see losing weight can be as easy as cutting back on your portion sizes, how ever that requires an immense amount of discipline, and the majority of us falter on this point after only a few days. So you’re better to have a healthy diet plan to fall back on as your road map to success for weight loss.
What are your alternatives
There are hundreds of diets to choose from. The Internet has made it a lot easier to research diets and even sign up and follow them then ever before. No more weekly meetings and weigh ins, popular programs like weight watchers, slim fast, and MediFast are all available in an online form.
Of course, there are also no shortage of books you can buy from online retailers like Amazon or your local book store to read up on a particular diet plan and educate yourself on how to stick to it.
What to look for
It’s important before choosing a diet plan to follow that you know what you like and don’t like. Having an idea of the foods you enjoy and matching that to a particular diet plan that lets you eat those foods is important. For instance following the Mediterranean diet is great if you enjoy pastas, some vegetables, and a bit of wine. How ever if you’re more of a fan of meat and proteins then the Atkins plan is probably a better fit.
Take time to think about what you’re willing to cut out of your diet, and also what you’d like to keep.
The second thing to consider is are you going to be getting all your required nutrients from a diet plan. Some diets don’t give you the full servings of fruits and vegetables you need each day to get the vitamins and minerals to lead a healthy lifestyle.
For short term this isn’t the end of the world, but you should be sure to supplement what you’re missing with a multivitamin if required.

Many weight loss products offer quick fix solutions. Manufacturers and distributors of these products provide promising claims that can tempt anyone to try. Who would not be interested products that can melt away your fat while you doze off? Or how about those made of 100 percent natural ingredients that guarantee long-lasting results?
Healthy options
Many people who want to lose weight try hard to find an effective weight loss product (or at least a healthy one). Finding one is very tricky, however. When planning to use a supposedly healthy product, examine it carefully. Consult a health care professional about it. Do not be swayed by advertising claims. Be aware of claims that have words like magical, guaranteed, effortless, easy, or mysterious. These weight loss products are simply unrealistic.
Multi-billion industry
Weight loss products is a multi-billion industry. In the United States alone, Americans spend $30 billion dollars on them. These products vary, coming in the form of diet foods, drinks, pills, potions, and even devices.
Some of the ineffective products are diet patches, bulk fillers, muscle stimulators, and certain appetite suppressants. Prescription medications for weight loss can have side effects. Take note of phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride, an appetite suppressant that can increase blood pressure. Ephedra, one of the widely popular weight loss pills, has been banned because it can cause heart problems, chest pain, seizures, and stroke.
The only weight loss solution that guarantees healthy and permanent long-term results is a combination of low calorie diet and regular physical exercise. The calories you consumed should be burned so that these would not be stored as fat in your body. A healthy weight loss product can only serve as a supplement. A healthy weight loss product can never equal the effect of a low calorie diet and regular physical exercise.

For safe and healthy weight loss, the profound sciences of Yoga and Ayurveda form a powerful combination. Yoga providing a system of exercises which help to burn fat, increase metabolism and promote fitness, while Ayurveda providing the guidelines for proper diet and nutrition. In this article I will explore Ayurveda, which is the science of self-healing and longevity.
A key concept in Ayurveda is that of the 3 Doshas (humours): Vata, Pitta & Kapha. A combination of these 3 bodily humours are responsible for the makeup of our human body. This article is focused on the Kapha Dosha, which is responsible for fat and is the prevalent dosha in those who are overweight and obese. Thus, from a Yogic and Ayurvedic point on view, in order to burn fat and lose weight one must reduce Kapha in the body.
As a quick review the following 3 most important points about Ayurveda need to be remembered:
1. The qualities of Kapha Dosha are: Wet, Cold, Heavy, Dull, Soft, Sticky & Fixed
2. Ayurvedic healing is based on the following 2 principles
* Like Increases Like
* Opposites Decrease Each Other
3. There are many treatment methods in Ayurveda and of these we are focusing on Diet for weight loss in this article. In future posts I will detail other Ayruvedic recommendations to reduce weight, burn fat and get fit.
So keeping the above in mind here are Ayurveda’s dietary recommendations for how to combat obesity, reduce fat and promote healthy weight loss.
General Diet Composition to Burn Fat:
* 30-40% of your diet should be whole grains.
* 20-30% protein (from both vegetarian and non-vegetarian sources)
* 40-50% mostly vegetables and some fruit.
Specific Dietary Recommendations to Lose Weight:
* Since like increases like, the qualities of Kapha should be a guide to help you choose the right type of foods to eat. So looking at it from that perspective one should reduce fatty foods, dairy, ice cream, meats (specially red meat) etc.
* For drinks, stick to hot drinks instead of cold ones. Again use Kapha qualities as a road map to help you choose. Drink teas, hot water, instead of cold sodas and milk shakes.
* Since opposites decrease each other, use more hot spices in your food. Ginger, cinnamon, coriander and other hot spices will all work to help you reduce Kapha, which is the key to reducing weight. The tastes you should shoot for in your diet are pungent, bitter and astringent. Foods with these tastes are all anti-Kapha and will assist in burning fat. The tastes you should generally avoid are sweet, sour and salty.
* Similarly increase salads, beans, dry cereals and cooked grains in your diet. Eating foods with Vata and Pitta qualities will increase those doshas in your body and will work against increasing Kapha.
* Eat one big meal a day and make it either your lunch or your breakfast.
* To avoid snacking, have a glass of hot lemonade made with honey. This will help burn fat and keep away the hunger.
Conclusion:
I hope what you begin to see with Ayurveda is that it gives you the knowledge and framework within which you can then customize the treatments you need using your intelligence. That’s why I call Ayurveda the science of Self Healing. Once you know the basic concepts, you can readily apply them to deal with any health situation that life throws at you. Specifically for weight loss understand the qualities of Kapha Dosha and tailor your diet and life style to reduce it. When you reduce Kapha you reduce fat. From a dietary perspective, simply reduce intake of food with the same qualities and increase intake of food with opposite qualities.

Many people experience the pain of losing weight. With Hollywood’s perception of beauty, there are many added pressures to be thin, however, it can be difficult to lose weight the right way and many diet only to end up gaining the weight right back. So many people turn to unhealthy weight loss diets and end up doing severe damage to their body. There are many tips for healthy weight loss that can get you to your goal weight while still being healthy.
Tip #1 – Do not eliminate all foods you love to eat from your diet. Many people believe that if they do not eat any indulging foods, they will lose weight. The truth is, you can still eat those types of foods, but in proper quantities and frequency. Another mistake people make is to eliminate some meals or food completely. This can be very dangerous because you are not getting proper nutrients. Rather than skipping meals or eating three big meals a day, it is a good idea to eat four or five smaller meals.
Tip #2 – Eating at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day can be very helpful for healthy weight loss. Fruits and vegetables are filled with vitamins and antioxidants. Many people use the fruits and veggies diet because they are low in calories, but help fill you up quickly.
Tip #3 – The most natural foods are best. We are so accustomed to drinking coffee, tea and sodas, but all the sugar in those drinks adds up. Water is essential for healthy weight loss and it is recommended to drink eight glasses a day. Not only will water help keep you hydrated; it will help keep you full throughout the day.
Tip #4 – Try to avoid processed and fast foods. Fresh foods generally are lower in sodium and fat content. It is also important to pay attention to the labels on foods; just because the label claims it is low in fat does not mean it is low in calories. Just by paying attention to the label on foods and understanding how they can affect your weight can make a huge difference for healthy weight loss.
Tip #5 – Physical activity is probably the best tip for healthy weight loss. Exercising at an elevated heart rate for 30-60 minutes a day is recommended to stay healthy. Exercises that include weight lifting can also help burn off calories. However, it is important that you know your body’s limit and you do not push yourself too much.
It is important to stay at a healthy weight, but it is equally important to do it in the right way. Too many people fall to “fad diets” and can end up doing permanent damage to their body because they are not taking in proper amounts of vitamins and nutrients. Paying attention to these tips for healthy weight loss can make all the difference and by safely losing weight, the effects will be greater and longer lasting.

Healthy weight loss is the ideal way to lose your weight without compromising on your health. Healthy eating combined with exercise will help you to lose weight and increase your body’s fitness. Today’s sedentary lifestyle has caused overweight or obesity to become a common problem. Many people suffer from a weight problem and want to lose weight fast. But there is no magic diet or exercise which can help you to reduce weight overnight.
Healthy eating is the first step towards weight loss. Healthy food habits will not only help you to reduce weight but will also prevent health risks like heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and other conditions. Many people start crash dieting to lose weight fast. Crash diets are not good for your health, and as soon as you stop dieting, you gain back the weight fast. In modern fast-paced lifestyle, it is not easy to maintain a healthy diet. Sometimes healthy weight loss can be a real struggle. Many people opt for different fad diets or quick-fix plans for fast weight loss without consulting a dietitian or doctor. But, most of the time, these fad diets or crash dieting do not work and often have adverse effects on your health.
A healthy weight loss process is not only helpful for losing weight, but it also make you look and feel better. It has long-term health benefits as well. A healthy diet plan reduces your chance of developing serious health risks like heart disease or diabetes.
If you want healthy weight loss, then the first step towards your goal would be to adopt healthy eating habits. For losing weight, first you have to cut down on fatty food items. Foods high in fat not only lead to weight gain and obesity, but also increase the risk of high cholesterol, hardening of the arteries and even cancer. You should include more wholesome foods like fruits, vegetables and whole grains, while cutting down on refined flours and greasy, fatty and sugary foods.
Some Useful Tips On Healthy Dieting:
Healthy diet plays an important role in a healthy life. It is said that variety is the spice of life, which is also true for maintaining a healthy diet for the long-term. If you have to eat the same healthy diet everyday, then it is very likely that soon you will give up your healthy diet for healthy weight loss. To avoid monotony in foods, be sure to use a variety of foods that are available in the grocery store. Try a combination of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and whole grains. Variety in foods is also important because different types of foods contain different types of nutrients.
While maintaining a healthy diet plan, you should not feel deprived of your favorite foods, since that can lead you to give up your healthy lifestyle. You don’t have to give up all your favorite foods in order to lose weight and to follow a healthy lifestyle. You can enjoy your favorite foods but eat them in moderation. You can have an occasional treat of your favorite food and still have healthy weight loss.

Many of today’s so-called, modern “fad diets” are deemed to be too unhealthy or unsafe if followed in the long term. Why is that?
That’s because, even though the diet does deliver on its promise to burn fat and help you shed those unwanted pounds as quickly as possible, the means to achieving that goal are fraught with unhealthy and unsafe dietary practices.
However, most dietitians and nutritionists will tell you that the ends do not justify the means.
In other words, just because a particular weight loss program can get you to lose weight doesn’t mean that it is the best diet to follow. What is the use of following a diet for two months, losing dozens of pounds, if you are risking an increase in blood pressure, cholesterol, your risk of heart disease, or even the risk of developing a cancer?
Dieticians and nutritionists agree that the safe healthy diets are the ones that incorporate a well-balanced diet consisting of foods from all four food groups, drinking plenty of water, losing weight at a steady pace, and incorporating some form of light to moderate exercise.
There exist numerous examples of safe and healthy diets that meet these criteria. Over the course of a diet, you should avail yourself of the opportunity to eat food from all four of the major food groups, drink plenty of water, and even have the opportunity to engage in some light exercise in the form of daily walking. Stay away from fad diets that require you to engage in some form of “extreme”, “unnatural” diet regimen.

I’ll admit it. One of the hardest things I have ever done in my life is trying to lose weight. Not because of lack of motivation or commitment, no, I had PLENTY of that. The problem for me was deciding on the ‘how’. It seems as if everywhere you look, there is a new diet out on the market that promises incredible way to help you lose weight and have a perfect body. The before and after weight lose all look fantastic and are enough to sway just about anyone who is desperate to achieve the body they desire. The choices seem endless and all too often, at least for me anyways, I ended up making the wrong choice. So, how does someone know what is the RIGHT weight loss program for them?
The first step in any successful weight loss management is and will always be an exercise program which may include weight strength training. Nothing is a substitute for getting up and getting moving. Check with your doctor, make sure you have no health problems that would prevent you from getting physical, and get to it! Jumping rope, jogging, even brisk walking will start the calories burning and get your program off to a great start. In addition, make sure to add some resistance training to your regimen. For those less experience out there, this means weight lifting. Don’t groan, I know what you’re thinking, but here are the facts. Muscle burns fat. The more muscle you have, the more fat you will burn. Even while you are sitting down watching TV, your muscles will be burning fat. Now, don’t think that just because I am talking about lifting some weights you are going to turn into some bulky bodybuilder. That just doesn’t happen. Your physique will become toned, your muscles will start to show, and your clothes will fit better. All the things you want to have happen.
Now, exercise alone may not be all you need. For some of us, quality weight losing programs are what we need in addition to our exercise routines, but back to the original question, how do we know which one to pick?
When choosing a weight loss plan or product, the key thing to keep in mind is, “Is this something that I could do?” Be sure to learn all the parameters of the program or product and ask yourself this question. Try to picture yourself following the guidelines and outlined and be realistic with yourself. Is this something you will really stick to? Does the cost fit into your budget? Are there any special foods or supplements you will need to purchase? Many people begin weight loss program with the best of intentions, but decide later on that they made the wrong choice. Had they done a little more research beforehand, they likely would have had more success.
How to lose weight is an issue for many people all over the world. The health implications alone are certainly a reason to take some action, but it is the results we see as our bodies’ change that really motivates us to continue and hopefully, eventually succeed. If you take your time, do your research, commit to an exercise regimen as well as a program or product that is right for you, then you too can join the thousands of people every year who have success with a weight loss program.

Are you looking to lose weight but are having problems with choosing between all the easy healthy diet plans on the market? I will help you through this process by outlining what criteria you should consider to make the right decision.
Using these criteria you will be well on your way to looking and feeling as amazing as you desire. It’s a very straightforward approach and is really effective in simplifying the process. The three criteria I use when choosing easy healthy diet plans are variety, preparation and affordability.
First, let me explain what I mean by variety. Your diet plan should allow you to eat a variety of foods in combination with each other. Why? Your diet shouldn’t be limiting because we all have different tastes in foods so, why should we be on the exact same meal plan? I may love pizza and pastas and you may love stir fried foods. We should be able to have the flexibility of having different variety and combination foods in our meals.
Second, what do I mean by preparation? The foods and meals that are recommended in your diet plans should be easy to prepare and they should be able to be cooked in a time period that’s convenient for any situation in your life. We don’t always have hours upon hours to prepare meals. We’ve all been in the situation where you’ve only got 15minutes to grab a bite before you have to be at your job, class, appointment or your child’s recreational activity. When reviewing all the diet plans that interest you they should give you the option of preparing meals in a flexible time frame.
Lastly, what’s affordable? I’ve seen some diet plans that can cost $1000’s of dollars not including the foods costs to prepare those meals outlined in the guides. I’m here to tell you that there are plenty of plans online that cost no more than $100 and you shouldn’t have to take a small loan out to pay for them. Stick to these criteria and you’ll be well on your way to looking amazing, feeling great and being healthy!

If you believe that obesity runs in the family, or it is inherited, then you are totally wrong and most health and weight loss experts will agree. The truth is, obesity comes about for one simple reason. Eating far too much than your body needs to.
It is a fact that as we get older, we generally put on weight more easily. This can be prevented of course, but most people do not eat the right foods and do not exercise enough.
There are lots of weight loss products and formulas available today. Many make ridiculous claims but some actually can help you to shed pounds and maintain a healthy weight. One such product which is causing a stir in the weight loss industry is Cheia Vida Slim.
Cheia Vida Slim is made up of 3 main fat binders along with sea minerals from a unique brown seaweed. NeOpuntia and ID-alg completing the product are fibrous co-factors of Guar Gum and Glucomannan.
NeOpuntia is a vegetable fat binder that comes from cactus. It is 100% natural and backed up a lot of strong scientific research. In fact, over 170 products worldwide use NeOpuntia and in Europe it is EU Organically certified.
ID-alg, without going into too much technical and scientific details, helps to stimulate the metabolism and thyroid hormones, while at the same time because it is a brown seaweed extract full of antioxidants, will help you rid your body of free radicals and improve your immune system. Some claim it may also help to slow down the aging process.
Cheia Vida Slim has been formulated by the owner of Alive Worldwide Scotty Paulson, and Dr. Charlie Rouse, a twenty year veteran in the weight loss industry. The product comes with a booklet and CD to help you with formulating your meals and guides you to the correct way of losing weight fast and permanently. It contains simple instructions and tells you the foods you should be eating and of course those that you simply must avoid if you want to lose weight.
Cheia Vida Slim also comes with it’s sister product Cheia Vida, which is a health beverage made up from exotic fruits from the Brazilian Rain Forest. Acai, Yerba Mate, Cha De Bugre and Green Tea have been formulated together to produce this great tasting health beverage.
Cha De Bugre has been used by Brazilians for over 100 years to help them control their weight. This small berry is little known in the USA and Europe but it is expected to become a common household fruit within ten years.
Green Tea is highly recommended by nearly all nutritionists to help cleanse the body and stimulate the turn fat into energy by stimulating the metabolism.
Acai is becoming a very popular ingredient in many health drinks and is recognised as the world’s number one superfood.
Yerba Mate is the national drink of Argentina. This herbal tea is renowned to give you energy, suppress your appetite and improve your immune system.
It appears the major benefit of Cheia Vida Slim, is that because of it’s ingredients, unlike anything else available, not only does it help people lose weight and keep it off permanently, but when taken in conjunction with Cheia Vida, your overall health will also improve.
Many sufferers of diabetes are reporting excellent results, and anyone who has diabetes will tell you that weight loss and dieting is normally a huge problem due to their special needs.
Many people who are obese are finding the effects of Cheia Vida Slim helps them to reduce the amount of food they eat. This of course is the perfect answer to obesity in that over eating to excess has caused this epidemic in the first place.
Recent figures showed that 34% of Americans are overweight, with 35% now being officially obese. Probably the most alarming statistic was that more and more children under the age of 12 are also becoming obese. In many states the figure was as high as one on four children.
Obesity is a major problem in the USA and of course worldwide. With the USA now being officially the fattest nation on earth, it is time people took responsibility for their own lives and seriously look at the way they currently eat and live.
The USA loses over $152 Billion a year through obesity related problems, such as time off work and medical costs. Alongside that, people who are obese run the risk of so many other illnesses that it is inevitable that unless they change the way they eat, they will shorten their life span dramatically.
Let us hope that people begin to understand the importance of a healthy diet along with regular exercise. Not only will it help to increase the life expectancy on the nation, but it will also go to helping the economical outlook in general.
Cheia Vida Slim appears to be doing it’s part, the rest of course needs to be done by us, the people!

Have you been using “diet” products with artificial sweeteners to help you with healthy weight loss?
After you hear the results of the latest studies, you might think twice before opting for that diet soda. Recent research has shown that using no-calorie sweeteners might actually be making it harder for you to drop those pounds and fight off extra hunger pangs.
The research was performed by a team of psychologists from the Ingestive Behavior Research Center at Purdue University. It compared rats who were given glucose-sweetened yogurt (glucose is a simple sugar) with rats who ate yogurt that contained a zero-calorie sweetener instead. The rats that ate the zero-calorie sweetener yogurt ate far more later on than the rats who had the glucose yogurt. As a result, they gained more weight and fat.
When the sweet flavor and the actual intake of calories are separated, your body isn’t as able to gauge how hungry it really is, according to the authors of the study, Susan Swithers, PhD, and Terry Davidson, PhD. For that reason, healthy weight loss simply can’t happen by using zero-calorie sweeteners to substitute what you’d normally eat.
Artificial sweeteners don’t cut it
Changing how much you should eat is a result of experience over time. It requires a lifestyle change, not supplementing the same foods with artificial alternatives. This study helps to explain why the rate of obesity has risen at the same rate as the use of artificial sweeteners. Swithers also said that there is no proof that using artificial sweeteners have ever helped people manage their body mass. Instead, past studies have shown that these artificial sweeteners have had little-to-no positive effect overall.
Testing, testing, 1-2-3…
To look further into this, three experiments were performed to see if the ability for lab animals to regulate how much they eat is impacted by the use of artificial sweeteners. These experiments looked at compensation by cutting back, weight gain, and caloric intake.
The result that when no-calorie sweeteners are used, there is more weight-gain and fat storage than there is with “natural” sweeteners was overwhelmingly clear.
For this reason, the authors of the study feel that using or recommending no-calorie, or even low-calorie sweeteners actually results in the opposite of what we’d assume from the fact that they offer a calorie-reduced diet.
The evidence from across the Western world that shows that people who drink diet sodas are at a greater risk for metabolic syndrome and obesity supports the results of this study even further. Metabolic syndrome is made up of many different health issues such as high blood pressure, abdominal fat, and insulin resistance. Metabolic syndrome makes people more prone to diabetes and various forms of heart disease.
Why do you gain weight when you’re choosing low-cal?
Artificial sweeteners confuse the system, working against healthy weight loss. Your body is designed to expect a calorie boost when it tastes something sweet. When that doesn’t happen, it makes you crave more food so that your body will get the calories it now wants.
Instead of eating less, artificial sweeteners make you want to eat more. This doesn’t help you to cut calories at all.
The scientists recommend that if you want to take calories out of your diet, you’ll need to become more conscious of what you’re eating and make choices more conducive to healthy weight loss, instead of trying to eat the same amount but with artificially sweetened alternatives.
