If you are interested in learning about green tea weight loss you have found the right article. In this article you will learn what the claims are and whether or not this diet lives up to them. The basics, as a preface, are this; green tea is an antioxidant, it is supposed to increase the metabolism, and it is supposed to be a natural detox for your body. In the following paragraphs I will touch on each of the above and conclude with my opinion.
First, is it an antioxidant? Yes and here is how it applies to weight loss. By working on the body as a natural laxative, it allows you to discard toxins and built up waste that is trapped in your colon. The same properties that allow it to do this may help to prevent damage to your cells that may happen due to free radicals. The combination of these two aspects may leave you much healthier than when you started.
Second, does it increase the rate of your metabolism? This is up for debate, and in my opinion, I think it depends to a certain extent on the individual, their activity level, and their overall health prior to beginning the green tea diet. But, some people do claim that green tea does increase the rate of their metabolism.
Last, is it a natural detox? This was touched on in the previous paragraph, but not fully. The basic idea that supports this claim says that like many other herbal teas, when green tea is drunk hot, it will act to one, hydrate your bowls, and two flush them. This, is too up for debate, but it does seem to have this effect on many.
In conclusion, I have never personally used green tea as a weight loss supplement, but I have drunk it as a natural detox, and it did seem to leave me feeling much healthier. All of the claims made in this article are only my opinion, so make sure to consult a doctor before using green tea.

So you are trying to find a safe and natural way to lose weight and stay healthy? We all want this. So let me talk to you about green tea. Massive media attention has been focused on Green Tea for Weight Loss since it was featured on Oprah. So why has it been getting so much attention?
Green tea is an ancient herb that originates from China but doctors have also found that it has incredible health benefits, especially when it comes to weight loss. The key is the anti-oxidant ingredient in green tea known as “Epigallocatechin Gallate” or EGCG for short. This ingredient has many benefits such as inhibiting the development and growth of cancer cells; killing existing cancer cells without harming normal cells and inhibiting the unnatural developed of blood clots.
The most shocking discovery was that EGCG can actually slow down the formation of AIDS. This is beyond belief. Now let’s discuss the weight loss aspect of green tea.
Green tea can help speed up your metabolism which helps you to burn calories. It also has a lot of caffeine as well as polyphenols which trigger your body’s fat burning mechanisms. This also helps to boost your metabolism so you can promote your overall weight loss. Green tea has been ground up by weight loss companies and put into a pill form.
Once green tea was popularized by Oprah then companies started popping up everywhere promoting a form of great tea weight loss pills. Many of these companies sold individuals fake green tea pills. You know your pill is a fake if the green tea doesn’t come from China or Japan. Companies don’t realize that it is the real active ingredient in real green tea that delivers the extraordinary results.
Thankfully there are legitimate Chinese companies which ship the real green tea to the United States and other countries. You just need to find the right source to buy your green tea or green tea pills. You may even find that authentic green tea pills help you burn the fat faster than just drinking green tea and it’s more convenient.

Have you found yourself a few pounds up? Does your weight loss routine seem to go 2 pounds up- 1 pound back?
The first step in any successful weight loss plan, is how to get the motivation. We all know the diets, read the newest and latest best sellers. However, we keep up with the same old habits. We join clubs on the 1st of Jan. only to disappear by Feb. 1st.
What is your motivation for loosing weight? If you haven’t found it, you probably won’t succeed. How about being healthier and being around to see your kids graduate.
How about just looking better in clothes?
For me my motivation came when I decided to see how the camera saw me. I had my wife take pictures from all angles in my bathing suit. Next, I posted these pictures on my mirrors, refrigerator and even in my truck. After a week went by, I became disgusted by the pictures. I stopped in to a health club and had them measure my body fat. They told me politely that I was 27 percent lard.
That was the breaker!
After that, I began an exercise program that included diet, drinking more water, weight training, aerobics, monthly body composition measurements, keeping a log, and getting plenty of sleep.
The only real diet that makes sense is to get a steady diet of exercise. Start slow and progress forward. Visit a gym, see a trainer. Do whatever it takes to get motivated. Get intense if the Doctor says it is Ok. Watch the Biggest Loser on TV for motivation. Not everybody wins the trophy but most go home healthier and a winner.

The metabolism in many ways is the gatekeeper to your weight and also your weight loss. It holds the most clout over whether or not the fats which you consume stay with you or get burned faster or slower. You can think of your metabolism as a muscle, which, like any other can get flabby and out of shape. By toning your metabolism you will be able to burn fat at a quicker and greater rate. Don’t take care of it and you won’t burn fat as quickly so it will build up. This begs the question what affects your metabolism, if anything?
Recent scientific discoveries and breakthroughs have led to more credibility being given to the ability to change and shape the metabolism through diet which has led to nutrition weight loss options. Part of the key to nutrition weight loss is to eat more smaller meals throughout the day to force your metabolism to work more around the clock and burn fat at a greater rate. This does not mean eat everything and anything that you want as WHAT you eat still has a large bearing on the ability for you to affect your metabolism.
This is why nutrition weight loss based diets like Fat Loss for Idiots has been gaining in momentum in recent months. They offer a very specific and crafted diet plan which takes your body type, age, weight, etc. and calculates a diet just for you which includes the foods you should go after and what quantities you should take them in.

Hoodia Gordonii, also known as hoodia, Ghaap, xhooba, khoba, hoodia cactus, and South African desert cactus hoodia is a cactus-like plant that is currently causing a stir in the US and Canada for its potential to suppress appetite and promote weight loss.
Some people report that hoodia works for them right away, suppressing appetite within 20 to 30 minutes after taking the capsules. Generally, though, people typically need up to two weeks of regular hoodia intake before they begin to notice the effects of hoodia, which include a reduced interest in food, a delay in the time after eating before hunger sets in again, a feeling of fullness and a general feeling of well-being.
It is good noting that Hoodia gordonii is not a stimulant, and has no known negative side effects. However, there would always be someone who has a reaction to even the safest supplement, so it usually differs on each person’s personal experiences. It would be best to get the advice and guidance of a licensed medical practitioner, should one be unsure of the possible effects.
Natural hoodia supplements are currently available in the market, but one should be particularly careful that he/she takes a hoodia pill that contains the actual plant, since there are some brands out there who claim to contain hoodia, and have been tested to show that they do not have an ounce of hoodia whatsoever. Among the popular hoodia supplements in the market are Hoodia Slim from Paradise Herbs, and the Canadian-based MHSCI Hoodia.
Some individuals start by taking 1-2 capsules of Hoodia an hour before lunch and 1-2 capsules an hour before dinner daily for the first two weeks. As the appetite suppressant effect seeps in, some people drop back to 1 or 2 capsules per day. It is advised to follow the directions of your qualified healthcare professional.
Other weight loss supplements in the market have been found to have little or no effect on weight loss. Among these supplements are Chitosan, Garcinia cambogia and Pyruvate. Chitosan, a marine-derived starch found in the skeletons of shrimp, crab, and other shellfish, is often used in products promising to keep dietary fats from being absorbed by the body.
However, researchers have concluded that “the evidence available in the literature indicates that there is considerable doubt that chitosan is effective for reducing body weight.” Garcinia cambogia is one of the main components in one of the best-selling supplemental weight loss products, Hydroxycut., and researchers have concluded that “the evidence for G. cambogia is not compelling.”
Pyruvate, which is formed by the body during the breakdown of carbohydrates, is often touted as a booster of metabolism and an appetite suppressant, but analysts reported that “the case of pyruvate as an aid to body-composition changes and weight loss is weak.”
According to weight loss analysts and researchers, clinical evidence was also inadequate for the other supplements being sold as weight-loss aids, including the evergreen tree-derived herbal pill Yerba mate, Yohimbe and the fiber psyllium, but the analysts concluded that “none of the reviewed dietary supplements noted can be recommended for over-the-counter use.”

For most people, trying to burn fat and lose weight is not an easy thing to do.
They try to burn fat and lose weight with fad diets, infomerical exercise gimmicks, fat burning pills, and a whole array of other “popular” tools that are constantly being advertised. Unfortunately, this only things that these things will make lighter is your wallet!
There are tried and true ways to burn fat and lose weight that are often overlooked because of all the media hype that has so many people on information overload.
This article will take a look at two ways that you can exercise that will help you to burn fat and lose weight. When you combine these tips with a great diet, your efforts to burn fat will be on the fast track to success.
2 Tips to Lose Weight and Burn Fat
BURN FAT AND LOSE WEIGHT TIP #1: Strength training can be your best friend.
So many people avoid strength training when trying to burn fat with exercise because they think it will make them get big bodybuilder muscles. I can assure you that this will not happen! If you are on a fat loss exercise diet and exercise program, your body simply will not be able to add large amounts of muscle that will equate to getting the big muscles you see on the magazines.
The reason strength training can be a great tool to lose weight is because it can add lean muscle mass which will contribute to helping increase your metabolism while being active and at rest!
Another thing that is important you understand about using strength training to lose weight is that fat cannot be converted to muscle. Fat tissue and muscle tissue are two very different things. Muscle mass uses stored fat for energy when your body is in the right state.
Having an increased metabolism through strength training is a great way to burn fat because it will increase the amount of fat that your muscles will burn for energy!
BURN FAT AND LOSE WEIGHT TIP #2: Interval training is a great alternative to same speed cardio.
Interval training is a great way to burn fat because like strength training, it will increase your metabolism.
Interval training is different than same speed cardio because it uses both high and low intensities for a set amount of time. For example, you might get on an exercise bike and go slow for 2 minutes, then fast for 1 minute. You would repeat this interval 3-6 times, and you have a great workout what will help to burn fat and lose weight!
Another great thing about interval training to lose weight is that the time goes by so much faster. Instead of thinking “ok, 38 more minutes to go” you thinking “ok, 1 more minute until I change speed”.
CONCLUSION
If you combine strength training and interval training the right way, you will have an excellent workout structure that will help you burn fat and lose weight much faster than before! Remember to see a doctor before you start any exercise program to burn fat and lose weight. Your safety should be the number one priority!
Work hard, train hard, and always keep learning.
Good luck =)

First and foremost, always check with your doctor before you begin any exercise routine, so that you can avoid any injuries while exercising.
One thing many people do when starting an exercise routine, is they try to do too much too soon. Don’t do this. This is a sure fire way to burn yourself out and hurt yourself. In order to lose weight, you don’t have to go to the gym everyday. Going just three days a week will work just fine, but if you’re just starting, try two days a week, then go to three as you get comfortable.
When starting your workout, don’t try to run a marathon on the treadmill, or try to lift the weight of a sumo wrestler on your first day. Start where you are comfortable, but make sure the workload is actually making you sweat.
In addition to doing cardio, you should do weight training. Cardio will help your body to keep burning calories for maybe up to an hour afterwards. Weight training will make your body burn more calories for hours afterwards. Muscle basically eats up calories all the time, so the more you train your muscles, the more fat and calories you will burn. Women, do not worry about bulking up if you want to weight train. Testosterone is what causes bulkiness, and quite frankly, you don’t have enough of it to even begin to worry about bulking up. Women mainly want to tone up and look lean. To do this, use a lighter weight, but it has to have some resistance, and do more repetitions. Most guys want to bulk up, so to do this, use a heavier but safe weight and do fewer repetitions. With each day of working out, increase the weight maybe five pounds to make sure your muscles are actually being worked properly and getting stronger.
If you want to go to the gym more than three times a week, it is important that you work a different muscle group each day. For example, say you go to the gym on Monday and you do your cardio and then your weight training. You can work your chest and triceps. Remember to take a thirty second break between sets. Then on Wednesday, you can work you back and shoulders, then on Friday work your biceps and legs. One muscle group you can work everyday that you go to the gym is the abdominals. You can do simple sit-ups, an ab machine, it doesn’t matter. You may want to mix up how you work your abs everyday.
You will probably see people in the gym wearing weight belts. These are not necessary unless you are lifting heavy weight, and wearing this belt will actually cause your core to become lazy, and it won’t become as strong as you would like it.
Before beginning your workout, remember to stretch and drink plenty of water before, during and after your workouts.
Also, if the gym you are using has two weight sections, one being machines and the other free weights, start out with using the machines and as you get more experienced and stronger, you can move to the free weights. Free weights require more muscle control, and can be very dangerous if you do not know what you are doing.
Have fun and be safe sculpting the body you desire!

The Hoodia plant comes from a family of rare cactus-like stem succulents that can reach up to a meter in height. The Hoodia plant has vivid and luscious flowers that have a strong, pungent smell. In its native Africa, Hoodia is a protected species of plant, usually found within the Namib Desert area all the way down to Angola. Hoodia grows upon the plains and rocky ground throughout the desert areas. A few of the other that this plant goes by are Bushman’s Hat and Queen of the Namib.
The indigenous population of parts of Africa has known about the medicinal uses of this plant for many generations. They have used it regularly for everything from treating stomach aches to helping to treat infection. The world’s pharmaceutical companies have also found that the extract of this plant can lower blood pressure and reduce the appetite in users. The breakthroughs made by several companies have caused a sudden surge in demand for Hoodia, giving it a protected status throughout Africa. The scarcity of the Hoodia plant, coupled with the high demand for it, has created a rich sellers market. Today, Hoodia supplements have a very high value on the open market, and an even higher one on the black market.
With all the hype about this miracle weight loss drug, one important question emerges. Does it work?
In part, yes. However, the important thing to remember about Hoodia is that it won’t help you to burn fat off your body. What Hoodia affects most is the part of your brain that controls and stimulates appetite. Taking the supplements can help to control your desire to eat by fooling your body into thinking it’s full. People who use high-quality, authentic Hoodia often consume 1,000 calories or less per day, and never feel hungry. This translates into 7,000 calories a week, an amount equal to two pounds of fat weekly. Taking authentic Hoodia supplements stops you from needing to go back for second helpings at the buffet. It helps you feel satisfied with the small salad that you brought for lunch that day.
Hoodia comes in a variety of forms, such as pills and drops. Many people like to use the liquid version of Hoodia extract because it’s easy to blend into food and drinks, such as green tea. The liquid extract is also absorbed faster into the body. Hoodia tastes very bitter, but can be flavored with honey or sugar to make it easier to take.
It’s important to note that care must be taken when taking any appetite suppressant, especially one as potent as Hoodia. No diet should prevent you from eating properly, whether you feel like it or not. It has no discernible side effects such as those found in other appetite suppressants that over stimulate and cause problems. This is because Hoodia doesn’t stimulate the body at all.
By mixing green tea and Hoodia together, many people have found a potent mixture that helps them control their appetite and also provides a burst of energy that keeps them going throughout the day. Green tea alone will aid you in burning off 50-100 calories a day and can help rid the body of dangerous toxins naturally. By mixing Hoodia extract with green tea, many people realize a very relaxing and stress-free way to control their eating habits, especially those people who are prone to snacking throughout the day. Pharmaceutical companies are already promising mass market versions of the Hoodia extract in the very near future.
However, until pharmaceutical grade Hoodia is readily available, it’s important to take care with where and from whom you buy Hoodia. With the boom of demand for this supplement, scam artists and ineffective products abound. Do your research before you buy, and Hoodia might be just the stepping stone your diet needs.

The low carbohydrate style diet, and there are many variations, are popular for two main reasons; firstly, the initial weight loss is dramatic and secondly, those following such a diet have permission to eat brie, bacon, steaks and other foods usually forbidden when on a ‘diet’.
If you are considering a low carbohydrate diet you need to know the facts, and the possible damage you can do to yourself. While it’s unlikely you’ll drop dead on the spot, the detrimental effects on your health are real, long lasting and can be experienced virtually from day one.
1. A low carb diet depletes the healthy storage of glucose (glycogen) in your muscles and liver. When you deplete this store, you become dehydrated and this is what causes the dramatic weight loss in the first week or two. The loss on the scales is due to dehydration and muscle loss, not fat loss.
2. This depletion of muscle glycogen causes you to feel tired easily, and makes exercising difficult. A reluctance to exercise means your caloric expenditure is low and your metabolic rate (the rate at which you burn the energy in your food) declines.
3.When the body does not have enough carbohydrates to burn for energy, it burns muscle and fat. Loss of muscle causes a decrease in your metabolic rate. Less muscle and muscle tone means a slower metabolism, which means fewer calories are burned each day. Aesthetically, this means your muscles and skin lack tone, and you will soon lose your look of vibrancy, however little you had to begin with!
4.Not all carbohydrates are the enemies in the weight loss war. While, everyone knows that lollies, cakes, biscuits and sugary drinks are unhealthy and add extra kilos, some carbohydrates are very healthy and give us the energy we need to get through our day and do some extra exercising. Examples of good carbohydrates include: wholemeal bread and wholemeal pasta, brown rice, fruit, vegetables and legumes.
Just like with proteins and fats, these carbohydrates should be eaten in moderation. Large volumes of any proteins, fats or carbohydrates are not conducive to weight loss and health. This is why watching your portion size is an essential part of switching to a new, healthy way of eating.
5.Many people regain the weight they’ve lost with most methods of weight loss, but the rate is even higher with low carb, high protein diets. This occurs for four main reasons;
a) Muscle loss. With that comes a slower metabolism which means fewer calories burned each 24 hour period. A loss of muscle during the process of losing weight will almost guarantee you regain the lost weight and sometimes a bit more!
b) Re-hydration. You regain the healthy fluid lost because of glycogen depletion.
c) Lack of maintenance. It’s difficult to maintain that type of diet long-term.
d) Lack of positive change. You have not made a change to a long-term healthy lifestyle.
6.Eating too much fat, especially saturated fat, is very unhealthy. There is a plethora of research which shows that an increase in the consumption of animal products and/or saturated fat leads to increased heart disease, strokes, gallstones, kidney stones, arthritic symptoms, certain cancers and more.
7.Low carbohydrate diets are low in fibre and we know what that means! No animal foods have fibre. A lack of fibre increases your risk of cancers of the digestive tract and cardiovascular disease. It also obviously puts you at a higher risk for constipation and other bowel disorders, which can throw out your whole body rhythm.
8.Some people feel that the high protein diets must work because it seems everyone loses weight on them. This is because they are usually eating fewer calories. The same can be achieved on a well balanced, healthy, low fat diet.
9.Our western diets often contain far more protein than we really need as it is. If we look at some of the healthiest people in the world, for example the Okinawans in Japan, you’ll see they often have very little dairy in their diet, and use meat more as a garnish to dishes, rather than the main ingredient.
10.These diets also lack sufficient quantities of the many nutrients, phytonutrients and antioxidants found in fruits, vegetables, legumes and wholegrains necessary to aid in the prevention of cancer and heart diseases. Ironically, you actually need these nutrients more when you’re on a low carb diet because you’re consuming so much saturated fat.
11.The aim of every person on a low carb diet is ‘ketosis’. This is an unhealthy physiological state, a type of metabolic acidosis. For fat to burn efficiently and without producing excess toxic ketones, there must be sufficient carbohydrate present. Ketosis can lead to many health problems and can be very serious at its extreme.
12.This brings us to the delightful side effect known as ‘keto breath’. People on a low carb, high protein diet often develop terribly bad breath, caused by the production of acetones in the state of ketosis. The key to long term weight loss is choosing a healthy, well balanced diet rich in quality carbohydrates, plant foods and lean meats. This will ensure you don’t just start one diet after another, but you adjust your eating habits to guarantee you lead a long, happy and healthy life.
